What should you pay attention to when buying a therapy couch?
Share
There are plenty of stationary therapy couches available, but not every model will support you in your work. Your choice depends primarily on your work area, but also on personal preferences. Finally, the patient's well-being is also an important factor.
Before you buy, you should therefore think carefully about the following points.

1. The height and width
Clean, simple and modern: this is probably how many therapists and doctors imagine their practice. Even if decoration is perhaps secondary, you should still create a uniform overall image. This also includes choosing a therapy couch of the right size.
If it is too wide or too long, the room will automatically appear more oppressive and smaller. It will also limit your work and prevent you from moving around the client properly. So make sure that your treatment couch only stands out for positive reasons and doesn't literally take your breath away.
2. The height adjustment
Everyone probably agrees that a therapy couch should be height adjustable. This way you can find the right working position and make it easier for older patients to get on.
However, there are different mechanisms for adjusting the height. Some treatment couches, such as the SOFIA from Coinfycare, have a circumferential control rail that can be easily reached with the foot from all sides. With elegant spa couches such as the ERIS, however, you use a remote control and the wooden practice couches from Falkner are operated with a foot switch.
What you choose is entirely up to you. All options are straightforward and achieve the desired result quickly and quietly.
3. The upholstery
The most important thing here is the type of treatment you offer. For physiotherapists and chiropractors, we recommend a therapy couch with relatively thin padding so that the patient's body does not sink into it. The Coinfycare models in particular offer the optimal density without making the patient feel uncomfortable.
For wellness treatments, however, thick padding is recommended. The HERA spa lounger, for example, offers special relaxation with its velvety soft 11 cm.
4. The number of segments
Similar to the upholstery, the structure of the therapy couch should also be based on your work. Is a flat surface with a headrest like the DUBLIN enough for you? Do you need an additional leg section for seated treatments, like the N'RUN 3? Or are pelvic drops also essential? Then the best choice is probably the chiropractor couch.
5. The design
As we explained at the beginning, your furnishings should be harmonious. Your therapy couch can certainly help to create the right atmosphere. Consciously integrate the centerpiece into the room; this will make a big visual difference.
