Never again migraines - This is how it can be done without medication

About one million Germans are affected by migraine and regularly suffer from the pain. Often, strong medications are resorted to, but there are many natural methods to alleviate a migraine.

It doesn't take much

Relaxation is not rocket science. Sometimes, just taking a walk and enjoying the fresh air, taking a warm bath, or listening to music is enough. The more your soul can relax, the better your head will feel.

Additionally, you can use special relaxation techniques. Meditation, yoga, and progressive muscle relaxation as well as autogenic training have proven to be effective methods against stress and migraine.

The head massage

We often do it automatically: When our head hurts, we rub our temples. Those who know a bit about this and use targeted movements can alleviate an acute migraine.

First, place the tips of your index and middle fingers on your temples and then massage them with circular movements. You should apply light pressure and massage for at least 5 minutes. You can also use your palms. Then, wrap your hands around your head so that your thumb rests at the back of your head and your index and middle fingers reach to your forehead. Now massage these areas of the head. Thanks to the massage, the muscles relax, which alleviates the pain and simultaneously reduces stress.

A dose of yoga

The philosophy originating from India is thousands of years old and includes breathing techniques, meditation, concentration exercises, and physical exercises. In yoga, the mind, soul, and body are included in the healing process.

The typical deep relaxation of 10 to 20 minutes combined with exercises like the cat or the lotus position helps to prevent or alleviate migraine.

Pain-free thanks to acupressure

If you have little time and motivation, you can opt for an acupressure mat. Let the small plastic spikes stimulate your body for 10 to 30 minutes. For the head, there are special pillows that act on the right points to alleviate your migraine. Self-treatment with an acupressure mat has no side effects and does not require professional knowledge.

With Shiatsu to success

If you want to rely on professional help, a Shiatsu treatment might be just right for you.

Shiatsu is a Japanese healing method that uses targeted pressure on specific areas of the body to release blockages and congestion. This positively influences the energy pathways and activates the body's self-healing powers. During a Shiatsu treatment, our energy flow in the body is balanced and gently distributed. Acupressure points are also used here to counteract headaches.
