Our 5 favorite trends for wellness and fitness 2022

A new year has begun and with it comes a lot of new things that will change the fitness world. Maybe you are one of those people who have resolved to do more for your health this year. To make that happen, we are sharing 5 of our favorite wellness and fitness trends for 2022!

Mixed sports bring a breath of fresh air

Do you want to get more athletic, but all conventional training seems dull and boring? Maybe try a new mixed sport! Combinations such as Piloxing (boxing & Pilates) or SUP yoga (yoga on a stand-up paddle) are becoming increasingly popular and accessible. You can either do two of your favorite sports at the same time or try something new without everything being unfamiliar.

In 2022, sport will also be increasingly combined with mental relaxation. Sauna, massage and meditation are the perfect conclusion to an exhausting workout.

No room for excuses thanks to mini workouts

Not everyone has the time or energy to spend several hours a week in the gym. Challenges are good, but if they're too big, motivation disappears.

This year you can benefit from numerous mini workouts. 10 minutes a day with exercises that can be done at home - that's how easy it is to train your body. And if you want to go a step further, invest in dumbbells for even more effective exercises.

And it's that simple: Make a short list of around 5 exercises such as lunges, squats, push-ups, sit-ups, etc. Do each exercise for 30 to 45 seconds, with a 30-second break in between. Do the whole thing twice. And... done!

Mindfulness takes the pressure off

Mindfulness is a wellness trend that makes people aware that a healthy body does not automatically result in a healthy mind. Mindfulness exercises help you to switch off and concentrate on yourself. This allows you to listen to yourself better and at the same time perceive your surroundings better. Those who regularly practice mindfulness learn to distinguish between what is important and what is not and reduce stress.

You can find a simple mindfulness exercise and further suggestions for your mental well-being in our blog article on stress.

Nature is a gym

We've spent most of the last two years indoors and are now eager to finally get out of the house in our free time. Cycling, hiking and running will become increasingly popular in 2022! Not only is such a workout free, but it can also be done spontaneously.

Our tip: If you don't like exercising in public but still want to do something good for your body, you can resort to the tried and tested walk. Take time for a trip through the neighborhood, whether alone, with your dog or other people.

But whether it's a leisurely walk or a vigorous bike ride: being outside in nature is good for everyone and automatically reduces stress.

Hybrid training combines two worlds

More and more fitness studios are turning to hybrid courses, which give members the opportunity to train with others from home. Anyone who wants to train in the studio can continue to do so, and anyone who doesn't feel comfortable there can stay in their own living room and still participate. Even if there is a physical separation, members can still motivate each other and interact. Either way, fitness in 2022 will become more social again and contact with others will come to the fore.

Our conclusion

No matter whether your goal is small or ambitious, whether you want to work on your physical or mental health - there is a lot of new things waiting for you in 2022. We hope this blog article has inspired you on your way and that you feel ready to actually implement your New Year's resolutions this time! We wish you the best of luck trying them out.
